Before you begin: Data widgets are the charts shown in Dashboards and Reports. There are nine different kinds of charts including pie charts, line charts, etc. In order to display data, you need to create and configure data widgets. As part of the widget creation process, you can customize what data are displayed and how they are displayed by taking advantage of widget styles. This guide walks you through the process of using styles to customize the way data are displayed with widgets.
Assumption: The guide assumes the widget you want to style already exists on a dashboard that already exists. If you don't already have a dashboard, see How to Create a Dashboard. If your dashboard doesn't already have a widget, see How to Create Widgets.
Instructions:
Locate the Widget
1] Login and on the left side menu click Reports.
2] On the Reports menu click Dashboards.
3] In the list of dashboards, locate the one that includes the widget you want to style and click it.
4] In the dashboard, locate the widget you want to style and hover your mouse over the upper right corner. A three dot menu appears.
5] Click the three dot menu and from the popup menu choose Edit.
6] The Edit Widget panel appears on the right.
Edit Widget Styles
7] Across the top of the Edit Widget panel, click the Styles tab.
8] The Styles panel for that type of widget appears.
NOTE: While every Styles panel is unique for that type of widget, what they all have in common is they are all divided into two sections:
|
9] To turn off a particular style, slide the control slider for that style to the left.
10] To turn on a particular style, slide the control slider for that style to the right.
NOTE: Some style controls have a "?" icon to the left. Click on it for more information about that control. |
11] When you have the widget styled the way you want, click Save at the bottom of the Styles panel.
