Before you begin: This article is written for users who are already familiar with data sources and channels. For more information on either of these topics. please refer to Data Sources - How to Create and Manage Them or How to Create and Manage Channels. This article demonstrates how to integrate metrics from different sources by creating a custom channel.
Create a Custom Channel
1] Log into TapClicks and under Data, click Channels.
2] The Channels page opens. Here you can manage all the channels created in your TapClicks instance.
3] Click the Add Channel (i.e., plus sign) icon in the upper right corner.
4] The New Channel page appears.
5] Enter a name for the channel in the Channel name textbox.
6] Select at least two data sources from the Data Sources dropdown. If you accidently select the wrong data source, you can delete it by clicking the "x" to the right of the label.
7] Optionally select a color and icon for your new channel.
8] Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
9] To add your data views, click the Add data view (i.e., plus sign) icon next to Data Views.
10] Enter a name for the new data view in the Data View name textbox.
11] For each of the data sources, select one or more data source views (i.e., your metrics) from the dropdown menu and click the add button to add the view.
|NOTE: Ideally, only select metrics that are common to both data views for the group by fields, when a widget is based on a channel. Otherwise, the metrics might get split.
12] Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
13] Now use this data channel on data widgets to display the combined results.
