Before you begin: This guide shows you how to conduct competitive research on a single keyword/phrase. Research includes PPC competitive info, SEO competitive info and top ads.
How to Enter the Keyword or Phrase
To conduct keyword research, you start by entering a keyword or phrase into a search box.
1] Login to TapClicks and on the left side menu click Raven.
2] Click Competitor Research. The new search page appears.
3] Enter the keyword/phrase into the search box.
4] From the dropdown menu, select your country.
5] Click Search.
6] The summary page appears. You can see the keyword in the upper left corner.
How to Research Top PPC Competitors
Researching top PPC competitors means identifying those entities that are doing paid advertising for that keyword. It includes an approximate monthly budget.
7] Click PPC Competitors at the top of the summary page.
8] The list of top PPC competitors on Google Ads appears ranked according to the number of overlapping keywords.
9] To view this same data for other advertiser networks, click Bing/Yahoo! at the top of the list.
10] To export the list, click Export.
How to Research Top SEO Competitors
Researching top SEO competitors means identifying those entities ranking high for that keyword. It includes search engine rank and share of voice.
11] Click SEO Competitors at the top of the summary page.
12] The list of top SEO competitors appears ranked according to share of voice . Share of voice represents overall potential organic traffic the URL gets for the keyword in question. The calculation factors in the weight of each search engine
13] To export the list, click Export.
How to Research Top Ads
Researching top ads means seeing the ad copy and the link of the top performing ads for that keyword. It includes ad position and the option to see what other key words that ad has associated to it.
14] Click Ads at the top of the summary page.
15] The list of top Google Ads appears ranked according to the rank position.
16] To view the other keywords for the ad, click the number in the Other Keywords column for that ad.
17] To view this same data for other advertiser networks, click Bing/Yahoo! at the top of the list.
18] To export the list, click Export.
