New big number widget style options are now available including shape and plot type.
Shape
The big number can be wrapped in a circle as usual, but also a square wrap is now available. The background color for the big number can be set to use the dashboard theme color palette, the data source color or the user may select a customized color. When customizing the color, the user may opt for a solid or gradient design. Both a linear and radial gradient between two colors is available. The border of the wrap is also now configurable to use a different color. The width is configurable and you can even round the corners of a square wrap. The text can be styled with Bold, Italic, size and color options. These features all combine to create a much more attractive and stylish summary widget that matches the story users want to tell with the brand presentation they need.
Plot Type
We now offer three new plot types for the big number widget which will enable users to create even more compelling and useful dashboards and reporting for their clients and internal users.
Multi- Metric
This new plot type allow for a highlighted single metric and supporting metrics to be shown alongside in a smaller font. This is great when a single metric is the primary driver but the supporting metrics help to create the context.
Comparison
This plot type builds on the multi-metric plot type to allow creation of a purpose-built comparison widget which is focused on displaying data compared period over period. It highlights a single metric and compares either month over month, quarter over quarter or year over year, along with their comparison percentages.
Sparkline
The new spark line plot type allows the widget to display a small line graph below the big number which shows the trend of that metric over a timeline specified in the widget creation.
