What is the New Navigation Experience in TapClicks?
A new navigation and UI look/feel was introduced into the application in May 2019. Since then, we have been refining and iterating on this New Experience by adding features and usability enhancements. We are currently (2022) in the process of migrating all platform instances over to the new experience.
What are the benefits of the New Experience?
The New Experience has faster responsiveness, improved usability, and several new features that are available only to users such as:
- Advanced calculations
- Goal management
- Updated manage data sources
- Data load status
- Customizable login home page
- Dashboard and Report Studio favorites
- Google Sheets add-on
When will I have to move to the New Experience?
Starting in September 2022, we will begin to automatically migrate TapClicks instances. You will be provided support resources, training opportunities, and communication between now and when your instance moves. Some instances may have extenuating circumstances that prevent them from moving in the timeline. We will take these on a case-by-case basis and can grandfather instances into the Classic Experience, if necessary, for you to have extra time to prepare, or in cases where there are critical functionality gaps.
Can I stay on the Classic Experience?
We are strongly recommending users adopt the new navigation because it comes with many improvements and access to new features like Goals and Data Exporter. But, we know that there may be situations where the new navigation and UI experience still lacks the capabilities of the older version.
If you have one of those situations or require additional time to complete client and agent communication and training, we will grandfather your access to the Classic Experience until those gaps are resolved. Please reach out to your support or CSM resource and we will work with you to put the right program in place.
Do I have to do anything to be able to move to the New Experience?
No. If you’d like to fully move to the New Experience prior to the automatic migration, that will occur in September. Your CSM or support person can turn off the Classic Experience at any time. We will be running webinars that are open to all TapClicks users during the month of July to introduce the new user experience and answer any questions. Feel free to invite your internal staff and even your customers, if you want. We will be delivering these sessions with TapClicks branding and will make available the materials, script, and template if you would like to run your own communication program.
What if I want to move right now? What do I need to do?
Reach out to your CSM or support team to request to be moved immediately. We would recommend you enable the New Experience for at least your Super Admin users before migrating fully to ensure you have some internal users with experience in using the New Experience, but this is not 100% necessary.
Most of the functionality in the New Experience is consistent with the Classic, although the look and feel are different and the navigation has changed slightly, so there may be a slight adjustment period. The New Experience has been in production and actively used for all new TapClicks accounts since August of 2021 and we feel very confident that you will love the new features and improvements that you will have access to once you have migrated.
What information do you have on what to expect when I move?
Please watch an information webinar recording to learn what to expect and where to get more information. We are planning to begin the automatic migration of existing instances in September and will complete the migration by the end of October.
If you have not moved prior to September, we will be sending you additional information via email or through your CSM on when to expect your migration to occur.
On the first day after your migration, all of your users will be presented with a brief in-app tour orienting them to the new navigation and helping to smooth over any hesitation.
How will I train my users? Is this something that I can get help to do?
Super Admins were invited to information sessions in July about the New Experience to learn about the new platform experience and what to expect when your platform is migrated. If you weren't able to attend, please watch an information webinar recording and download the training guide that you can brand as your own to train the rest of your users!
If needed, TapClicks also has professional services available to help deliver training if you are not able to do that on your own. Please connect with your CSM to find out more about contracting a professional training service.
Do I need to reconnect any of my data sources when I move?
No. All Data Connections and Mappings, Dashboards, and Report Studio Reports will be maintained through this transition. There is no action a user needs to take to use the new UI after migration except if they want to take advantage of the newer features.
