Do I need any special permissions to connect to Pinterest & Pinterest Accounts?
In order to bring data into your dashboard, the account that you use to connect to Pinterest or Pinterest Accounts must be an owner of the account, not a partner on an account.
What is the difference between Pinterest, Pinterest Accounts and Pinterest Ads?
The Pinterest feed allows you to better segment reporting on a board-by-board level.
The Pinterest Accounts feed focuses on account level stats, across all boards in your account.
The Pinterest Ads feed presents data related to your Pinterest paid ads.
For Pinterest Ads, where do I see my ads?
The Pinterest Ads API uses the phrase “Promoted Pins”. These are the ads you are looking for.
Why can’t I see some of the Ads or Promoted Pins I expect to see in TapClicks?
This could be because the account you connected into TapClicks Manage Data Sources does not have the right permission in Pinterest to access those Promoted Pins. Please make sure that your account in Pinterest has high enough permission so that Promoted Pins can be accessed through the API.
Can I see my Pinterest Ads Shopping Campaigns in TapClicks?
Yes, these are referred to as Catalog Sales campaign objectives by Pinterest.
Why are my conversion metrics in TapClicks not matching what I see in Pinterest Ads?
It’s likely that the attribution setting in Pinterest Ads doesn’t match the attribution setting that TapClicks uses when pulling data through the API. By default, TapClicks uses the following attribution settings:
- 1 day View
- 30 day Engagement
- 30 day Click
If you would like to use a different attribution setting in your TapClicks dashboard, reach out to customercare@tapclicks.com and indicate what kind of attribution window you would like to use. Note that all assignments under a single connection will respect the updated attribution window.
I just connected to the Pinterest connector, why can’t I see any data?
When pulling data from the Pinterest API, it’s returned for a snapshot in time. TapClicks associates those rows of data with the date it was pulled. Pinterest data is lifetime data. When we fetch data the first time, it’s associated with “today”. Make sure you have today (not yesterday) selected in your date range selector. Note that there is no historical data available for this feed.
What if I need data from Pinterest that TapClicks doesn’t quite support?
There are a few ways to approach this situation.
1] Create a Smart Connector to bring data into your dashboard.
- This will allow you to get to your data fast.
- This path could be used in the long term.
- Or you can use this path while waiting for an enhancement to the Pinterest connector.
2] Review if the data you need can be accessed through On Demand Widgets.
- Similar to the Smart Connector option above, this will allow you to get to your data fast.
- This path has some limitations on which TapClicks features can be applied to the data set. For example, you cannot currently use Channels with on-demand data sets.
3] Submit a request to the product team to evaluate bringing this data into the Instant On connector.
- Make sure to include report extract examples so that we can review exactly the dimensions and metrics you’re looking for in your dashboard.
- If you need help with this process, feel free to reach out to your Customer Success Manager or customercare@tapclicks.com.
