Before you begin: This article is written for users who are familiar with TapClicks Smart ConnectorTM and are interested in using its geographic capabilities. For more information on this, please refer to FAQs: Smart Connectors.
What Are Geo-Settings?
Geo-Settings enable users to plot data on multiple geographic layers, including Country, State, County, City, Zip Code, Congressional District, Designated Market Area (DMA), and Coordinates. This feature supports detailed geographic insights, essential for visualizing campaign performance. Currently, this functionality is available exclusively for US data, ensuring accurate plotting with automatic validation and configuration. This integration provides comprehensive geographic visualization capabilities, significantly enhancing data analysis and decision-making.
How to Use Geo-Settings
1] Log in to TapClicks and on the Data menu, click Smart Connectors.
2] To use geo-settings on an existing Smart Connector, scroll or use the search box to find it and click the edit icon. Otherwise, click Add Smart Connector in the top right of the screen.
3] To use Geo-Settings on this Smart Connector, scroll down to Advanced Setup Options and switch the toggle for Geo Data Settings on.
4] The Smart Connector setup page will update. Scroll down to the Geo Configuration section.
5] Here you will be able to configure the Geo Settings for this Smart Connector. This needs to be done if you want to use this Smart Connector data for visualizations in TapMap.
6] First, from the dropdown menu on the left select a Location Type.
7] Then, from the dropdown menu on the right, select the corresponding Field Name from your data.
8] To add another geo field to your Smart Connector, click the Add new geo field button at the bottom of the section. You can add as many fields as necessary for your data.
Note: Some fields require multiple levels of specificity. For instance, if you want to use US City data, you must also include geo fields for Country and US State. If you select US City first, the page will update accordingly, and you will not be able to save until you choose Field Names for the additional geo fields. |
9] Once you have all of your geo fields configured, clicks Save changes at the bottom of the page.
