Before you begin: The Attribution Transformation is part of the Transformation Hub. If you do not see the Transformation Hub under the Data menu, please contact your TapClicks Account Manager to have it enabled. For more information about the Transformation Hub in general, please refer to Transformation Hub Overview.
Overview
The Attribution Transformation helps you connect UTM parameters (like utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign) from Google Analytics with performance data from other platforms. This gives you a unified view of KPIs like sessions, users, and page views alongside metrics such as impressions, spend, and conversions, so you can better understand the impact of your campaigns across channels.
How to Use the Attribution Transformation
1] Log in to TapClicks and, on the Data Menu, click Transformation Hub.
2] From the list of available transformations, click Attribution.
3] In the Attribution workspace, click Join Channel in the center of the page to begin. You will be prompted to create a channel that includes the data sources you want to use for attribution.
4] Create a channel with the data sources you want to include in the transformation. If you need help creating a channel, please refer to the article How to Create and Manage Channels. When finished, click Save at the bottom of the page.
5] You will be directed to step 2 of the transformation flow. Click Join Field in the center of the page to proceed.
6] Create calculations that add join fields to each selected data source. These fields will be used to link data across the channel. For help with creating calculations, please refer to the article How to Create Calculations. When finished, click Save at the bottom of the page.
7] You will be directed to the final step of the transformation flow. Click Add Fields in the center of the page to proceed.
8] Add the join fields and any additional fields you want to include from the channel you created. When finished, click Save at the bottom of the page.
