Before you begin: Filters allow users to quickly narrow their data to the segments that matter most. This feature is available across the platform and supports both simple selections and more advanced filtering logic. For questions about setup or access, contact your Customer Success Manager.
Overview
Filters in TapClicks give you a faster way to explore your data without rebuilding reports or navigating multiple views. Instead of digging through different pages, you can apply filters to instantly focus on specific clients, campaigns, locations, or other dimensions. TapClicks supports three types of filters:
- Client Filters: Scope data by organizational structure, such as Client, Client Group, Business Unit, or SmartCampaign
- Client Attribute Filters: Refine data further using additional conditions based on client attributes, such as NAICS Industry or State/Province
- Global Filters: Apply a single filter across multiple data views and sources for a unified view of performance
The filters panel is available on the following pages:
- Channel Overview
- Data Source Overview
- Dashboards
- Data Source Drilldowns
This creates a more interactive experience where you can answer questions faster, uncover insights more easily, and make more confident decisions.
Using Client Filters
Client Filters allow users to quickly scope their data based on organizational structure. The selected filter will immediately refine the data.
Users can filter by:
- Client
- Client Group
- Business Unit
- SmartCampaign
1] Open a Dashboard, the Dashboard Overview page, or the Channel Overview page.
2] Click the Filters icon on the right side of the page.
3] Use the pill buttons at the top of the panel to select a filter type.
4] From the dropdown menu, select the Client, Client Group, Business Unit, or SmartCampaign you want to filter by.
| Note: Only one primary client filter can be applied at a time. |
5] Click Apply at the bottom of the right side menu.
Using Client Attribute Filters
Client Attribute Filters allow users to refine their data further using additional conditions. These filters use AND logic, meaning all selected conditions must be met for data to appear.
1] On the Admin menu, click Platform Settings.
2] Select the Dashboards tab at the top of the page.
3] Scroll to the Client Attribute Filters section.
4] Use the toggle buttons to enable filters for specific client attributes, such as NAICS Industry or State/Province.
Apply a Client Attribute Filter
1] Open a Dashboard, the Dashboard Overview page, or the Channel Overview page.
2] Click the Filters icon on the right side of the page.
3] Expand Client Attribute Filters (AND).
4] Click Add Filter.
5] From the list that appears, select the attribute you would like to filter on.
6] From the dropdown menu that appears, select a value for that attribute.
7] Click Apply at the bottom of the right side menu.
Using Global Filters
Global Filters allow users to apply a single filter across their data for a more unified view of performance. Instead of filtering one view at a time, Global Filters apply across multiple data views and sources using shared fields. These filters use AND logic, meaning all selected conditions must be met for data to appear.
1] On the Data menu, click Filters.
2] In the upper-right corner of the page, click the Add New Filter (plus) icon.
3] In the first text box, enter a name for the new filter.
4] Using the Assign to Dashboard dropdown menu, select a dashboard. This determines which dashboards the filter will appear on as an option. Once applied, the filter will carry over to related pages such as the Data Source and Channel Overview pages, but must first be applied from a dashboard it has been assigned to.
5] Using the Data Sources dropdown menu, select the relevant data sources. These can include Instant On connectors, On Demand connectors, Smart Connectors, or Channels.
6] For each selected data source, choose the field to filter on. Use consistent fields across sources. For example, if you select Campaign Name for Google Ads, select Campaign for Facebook Ads.
7] Click Create Filter.
