What are Benchmark Widgets?
Benchmark Widgets is a useful feature in the TapClicks platform that integrates industry benchmark data into your data widgets. It enables you to compare your marketing data against industry benchmarks, providing a comprehensive view of your performance. This feature uses machine learning to classify your campaign data into the appropriate industry segments so that the data you choose to compare is categorized correctly to yield relevant and insightful comparisons.
Supported Data Sources and Metrics
Benchmark widgets are supported for the following data sources:
- Google Ads
- Facebook Ads
- Microsoft Advertising
- LinkedIn Ads
- Simpli.fi
- The Trade Desk
The following metrics are available for benchmarking:
- Click-Through Rate (CTR)
- Cost Per Mille or Cost Per Thousand (CPM)
- Cost Per Click (CPC)
Benchmark widgets are only supported for the sources listed above. Benchmark data is specific to a client’s industry and metadata. Apply a client filter to ensure the benchmark is meaningful.

How to Use Benchmark Widgets
Creating a Benchmark Widget:
1] Log in to TapClicks and on the Reports menu, click Dashboards.
2] Locate the dashboard where you want to use benchmarks. Search by name in the search box, or click Add New Dashboard in the top right to create a new one.
3] On the dashboard, find the widget you want to edit and click the Edit Widget (pencil) icon in the top-right menu.
4] To create a new widget, click the + icon at the top of the page and select Data Widget.
5] From the available widgets, select either Bar, Line, or Combo Chart.
7] In the Plot Type section, select one of the following plot types:
- Line Chart
- Line
- Stacked
- Bar Chart
- Clustered Bar
- Stacked Bar
- Layered Bar
- Lollipop Bar
- Radial Histogram
- Radial Bar
- Combo Chart
- Clustered
- Stacked
- Layered
- 100% Stacked
9] In the Metrics dropdown, select the data you want to display. Ensure the data is supported for benchmarks (CTR, CPM, CPC).
10] Below the Metrics dropdown, click Configure Metrics.
11] In the Configure Metrics section, use the sliders to enable benchmarks. You can turn on benchmarks for All Data (all data in your cohort) or for Instance (data from your instance only).
12] When finished, click Save at the bottom of the widget edit menu.
Filtering Your Data:
1] If the dashboard or widget is not filtered to a specific client, the benchmark widget will use the overall average.

2] To apply a filter, click the Filter Dashboard Data button (i.e. the filter icon) in the top right corner of the page.
3] In the dropdown menu, select the client to filter dashboard data.
