Before you begin: Data widgets are the charts shown in Dashboards and Reports. There are ten kinds of charts including pie charts, line charts, and more. To display data, you need to create and configure data widgets. As part of the widget creation process, you can customize what data are displayed and how they are displayed by taking advantage of widget styles.
This guide walks you through the process of using styles to customize the way data are displayed with widgets. The guide assumes the widget you want to style has been placed on a dashboard that already exists. If you don't have a dashboard, see How to Create a Dashboard. If your dashboard or report doesn't have a widget, see How to Create Widgets on a Dashboard or How to Create Widgets on a Report.
Locate the Widget
1] Log in to TapClicks and, on the Reports menu, click Dashboards.
2] Or, on the Reports menu, click Report Studio.
3] In the list of dashboards or reports that appears, locate the one with the widget you want to style and click it.
4] Locate the widget you want to style.
5] On a dashboard, hover over the widget and, in the top-right corner, click the Edit Widget (pencil) icon from the popup menu.
6] Or, in Report Studio, right-click the widget and select Edit Widget from the dropdown menu.
7] The Edit Widget panel appears on the right.

Note: While every Styles panel is unique for that type of widget, what they all have in common is they are all divided into two sections:
|
10] To turn off a particular style, slide the control slider for that style to the left.
11] To turn on a particular style, slide the control slider for that style to the right.
| Note: Some style controls have a "?" icon to the left. Hover over it for more information about that control. |
12] When you have the widget styled the way you want, click Save at the bottom of the Styles panel.
