How to Enter your Website URL
To conduct a website audit, you start by entering the URL into a search box
1] Login to TapClicks and on the left side menu click Raven.
2] Click Websites. The Productivity Tools menu appears.
3] Click the Start Website Audit button at the bottom. The New Site Audit page appears.
4] Enter the URL of your web page in the Website URL text box.
5] Hit Tab and the Website Name textbox populates automatically with the URL.
6] At the bottom of the page click Next. The schedule audit page appears.
How to Schedule the Audit
One of the options you have when auditing your website is to audit it once or schedule it for recurring weekly or monthly audits.
7] From the Analysis Schedule dropdown, choose how frequently to run the audit: one time, weekly or monthly.
8] If you chose weekly, from the dropdown to the right select the day of the week to run the audit.
9] If you chose monthly, select the day of the month to run the audit.
10] From the Crawl Depth dropdown, select the depth of crawl for your audit. The depth of crawl is the maximum number of pages to analyze during the audit.
11] If you want to keep a specific page from being crawled during the audit, enter its URL into the Block Pages from Crawler text box.
12] Click the +Add button for each additional page you want blocked and repeat step 11.
13] When you've added all the pages you want blocked, click Save at the bottom of the page. The start tracking popup appears.
How to Specify Search Engines for your Audit
Website SEO audits revolve around search engines. Here you get to specify one or more websites for your audit.
14] To start the audit, click Yes Please! The search engine page appears.
15] From the Search Engine dropdown choose a search engine to build you audit around.
16] Choose your language from the Language dropdown.
17] Choose your country from the Location dropdown.
18] Choose the device type by clicking on the appropriate device icon (desktop or mobile).
17] To include additional search engines in the audit, click Add Search Engine and repeat steps 15 – 18 for each search engine.
18] To remove a search engine from the audit, click the red trashcan icon to the far right of the search engine.
19] When you've designated all the search engines, click Next at the bottom of the page. The keyword groups page appears.
How to Specify Keywords and Keyword Groups for your Audit
Website SEO audits revolve around keywords. Here you get to specify keywords and group them into keyword groups.
|NOTE: By default, keyword groups are titled "Default keyword group". You have the option to change that.|
20] To change the name of a keyword group, click the pencil icon to the far right.
21] The group name becomes editable. Change the name and click Enter.
|NOTE: You may have to expand the keyword group to see it. If you do, click the ">" to the left of the keyword group name.|
22] To add your own keywords individually, enter them—separated by a comma—into the Enter Your Own Keywords textbox. Once you enter the first keyword in the textbox, the Add Keywords button appears.
23] When you're done adding your keywords individually, click Add Keywords. The keywords are transferred to the Added Keywords section of the page on the right.
24] To add you own keywords via bulk upload of a CVS file, click the Upload CVS button.
25] Navigate to the CSV file and click Add. The keywords are entered in the Added Keywords section.
26] To add keywords, suggested for your domain, scroll down to the Suggested Keyword list.
27] Scroll through the Suggested Keyword list and select the checkbox to the left of each suggested keyword you want to add. After you add the first suggested keyword, the Add Selected button appears below the list.
28] When you're done adding the suggested keywords, click the Add Selected button.
29] To add another keyword group to populate with additional keywords, click Add Group at the bottom of the page.
30] Edit the group name per steps 20 & 21 if desired.
31] Repeat steps 22 – 28 for the new keyword group.
32] When you're done adding keywords and keyword groups, click Next at the bottom of the page.
33] On the next page, optionally enter the URL of a competitor into the Competitor URL textbox.
34] To add additional competitor URLs, click the +Add button to the right and repeat step 33.
35] When you've added all the competitor URLs you want, click Save at the bottom of the page.
35] The page with all your website audits appears.
36] From the website audits page, you can do the following for any of your audits:
- Click the red trashcan icon to delete the audit
- Click the pencil icon to edit the audit parameters
- Click Organic Ranking to retrieve the rankings for the keywords submitted, which could take up to 30 minutes.
