Before you begin: This guide shows you how to perform an SEO audit on your website. The site audit crawls your website for technical errors and performance problems which affect your SEO rankings.
How to Enter your Website URL
To conduct a website audit, you start by entering the URL into a search box
1] Login to TapClicks and on the left side menu click Raven.
2] Click Websites.
3] The SEO & SEM Productivity Tools page appears.
NOTE: You'll generally see a list of websites that have been added to the SEO & SEM Productivity Tools list. In the event that no websites have been added yet, you will see a welcome page that gives you the option to start a website audit or start organic rank tracking. |
4] If the website you want to conduct a website audit on is already in the list, locate it and click Site Auditing. The audit gets updated automatically.
5] If the website you want to conduct a website audit on is not already in the list, click the Add New Website button in the upper right.
6] In the menu modal that appears, click Start Site Audit.
7] The New Site Audit form appears. Enter the URL of your website you'd like to audit in the Website URL text box.
8] Hit Tab and the Website Name textbox populates automatically with the URL.
9] At the bottom of the page click Next. The schedule audit page appears.
How to Schedule the Audit
One of the options you have when auditing your website is to audit it once or schedule it for recurring weekly or monthly audits.
10] From the Analysis Schedule dropdown, choose how frequently to run the audit: one time, weekly or monthly.
11] If you chose weekly, from the dropdown to the right select the day of the week to run the audit.
12] If you chose monthly, select the day of the month to run the audit.
13] From the Crawl Depth dropdown, select the depth of crawl for your audit. The depth of crawl is the maximum number of pages to analyze during the audit.
14] If you want to keep specific pages or entire folders from being crawled during the audit, you do so by entering the URL into the Block Pages from Crawler text box. To learn more about how to specify the URL, see What are Path Exclusions?
15] Click the +Add button for each additional page/folder you want blocked and repeat step 14.
16] When you've added all the pages you want blocked, click Save at the bottom of the page.
