Before you begin: This support guide shows you how to filter an On Demand widgets in a dashboard. Filters behave the same for Client-assigned and non-Client-assigned dashboards. If you're not sure how to create an On Demand widget, see How to Build an On Demand Widget.
Capabilities:
- Support for AND or OR logic in one widget. Filters default to AND. Some services do not support OR, depending on the partner. For example, Google Ads, and Facebook Ads APIs do not support OR.
- Wildcard functionality is supported for Dimension/Group by filters.
- If Metric filters are applied, the Total Row cannot be used.
- When a filter is applied to a widget, the Assignment field is locked until filters are removed.
- On widget creation, if you change a Data View or Assignment any previous filters will be dropped. The best practice is to apply the filters at the end of your configuration process.
- For existing widgets, you can edit the widget and modify / Delete Filterset in the widget configuration screen without having to save the widget (changes are instantly respected).
Limitations: Below is a list of filter functions which are not yet supported for On Demand widgets:
- No filter support for Microsoft Ads because the Microsoft Ads API doesn’t support filtering directly.
- Limited filter capabilities for LinkedIn Ads due to the LinkedIn Ads API supports limited filtering capabilities.
- Populate pick lists for filter selection (meaning, select from a list of campaigns to apply the filter against).
- Filters that support both AND and OR logic in the same filter.
- Filters on fields that are Date type or Boolean type.
- Filters on dynamic custom fields.
- On Demand filters cannot be promoted to dashboard-specific filters.
