Before you begin: When creating dashboard sections, the data source assigned to a section may be insufficient to give you the reporting detail you want, to accommodate different clients.
For example, you may sell several search packages to different clients that all use Google Ads, but for some clients you may want to provide extra granularity in your reporting. In this circumstance, the Google Ads data source assignment by itself will not provide the detail you seek. But you have an option.
You can assign a section in a dashboard to a "Product" that is tied to a particular client. By doing so, you get more granular control and can produce visuals that represents individual customer data.
Manage Dynamic Sections Based on Products
Create the section
1] On the Reports menu, click Dashboards. The Dashboards page appears.
2] To add a new section, hover your cursor to the right of the right-most tab, and when the Add Section button appears, click it.
3] In the upper left of the new section, click the Add Blank Section icon.
NOTE: When designing a dashboard, you may want to hide sections/tabs based on whether your selected client has a data source or product enabled. |
Assign a product to a section
4] In the upper right of the new section, click the More Options (three dots) menu.
5] In the dropdown menu, click the Manage Sections button.
6] In the Manage Sections panel on the right, navigate down to the section you just created and click the More Options (three dots) menu there too.
7] In the More Options menu click Assign a Product.
NOTE: Either a data source or a product can be assigned to a section. |
NOTE: In your sections once you've assigned a product or data source the other option will no longer be available. |
8] Select the product you wish to assign to the section from the list that appears.
9] Click Save Changes at the bottom of the Manage Sections panel. Now the visuals displayed in this section will be based on the specific product data.
Create a List of Products
1] To create your list of products, on the Admin menu, click Products.
2] In the upper right click ADD NEW PRODUCT.
3] In the Name textbox of the New Product window, enter your product name.
4] Slide the Active slider to the on (right) position.
5] Click SAVE. You'll see a notification that the product was successfully saved.
6] Repeat steps 1- 5 for each new product you wish to create.
