Before you begin: To assign icons to Dashboard sections, users must have permission to manage Dashboard sections. This feature is available in the New Dashboard Experience and is typically accessible to Super Admin, Admin, and Agent roles.
Overview
TapClicks allows users to assign icons to Dashboard sections to help visually organize reports and highlight key content areas. When a Custom Icon is applied, the icon color is automatically determined by the section’s configuration. The system dynamically assigns the icon color based on whether the section is associated with a product, a data source, or neither. This ensures visual consistency across dashboards while maintaining alignment with theme and data source configurations. Icon colors are applied automatically and cannot be manually customized.
How Icon Colors Are Determined
When a Custom Icon is selected for a section, the icon color is automatically determined based on how the section is assigned. If a section is linked to a specific data source, the icon inherits that data source’s color. If a custom color has been configured for the service, that color is used; otherwise, the system’s default service color applies. If a section is not assigned to a data source or product, the icon color matches the first color in the dashboard’s chart palette.
Section Assignment Type | Icon Color Behavior |
| Assigned to a Product | Uses the default blue color (#3498db) |
| Assigned to a Data Source (with custom color) | Uses the data source’s configured custom color |
| Assigned to a Data Source (without custom color) | Uses the data source’s standard color |
| No Assignment | Uses the first color in the dashboard’s chart palette |
