Before you begin: The process of blind assigning (formerly referred to as blind mapping) is something users of TapClicks do in order to get older assignments, and their lookback parameters, that would not appear via the normal assigner method.
How to Blind Assign
1] Log in to TapClicks and, on the Data menu, click Data Sources.
2] At the bottom of the Data Sources page, click the Manage assignments link.
3] On the Manage Assignments page, from the Data Source dropdown menu, choose the data source you want to blind assign.
4] Optionally elect to expand all assignments by checking the appropriate checkbox.
NOTE: Expanding assignments only works with feeds with two levels of assignments. It may be very slow (1+ hr.) for some feeds. |
5] Click Download.
6] After the mappings.csv file downloads, open it and delete all the assignment information except the Connection ID column.
NOTE: If you have multiple connections for a given Data Source, reach out to TapClicks Customer Service team ascertain which connection is which ID. |
NOTE: If you want to assign at the account level you will need the following:
If you want to assign at the campaign level, in addition to the above, you will also need the following:
|
7] Fill in the required fields of the mappings.csv file.
8] For those columns where you use account ID, add an “a” in the front of the ID. For campaign ID, add a “c” in the front of the ID. This is how the database defines the assignment keys for storage.
9] Save the mappings.csv file.
10] Return to the Manage Assignments screen and click Choose File.
11] Navigate to the mappings.csv file you just saved on your local machine and click Open.
12] Click Upload. A results file is output and you can see whether items were successfully assigned.
NOTE: For Data Sources with very long numeric IDs such as Facebook Ads, Facebook Insights and Instagram Professional, some spreadsheet editors, such as Excel, might transform the numeric IDs into an exponential format or round the number. When blind mapping for those Data Sources, before uploading the file, verify with a plain text editor that the IDs haven’t been modified. |
