Before you begin: This user guide shows you how to bulk un-assign (or un-map) data source records from a TapClicks Client entity. Manage Data Sources allows you to easily multi-select and bulk map however, it can be challenging to find how to undo that action if you make a mistake with assigning or mapping data.
When you unassign or unmap the data, it does not delete the data from the database. The only way to delete data from the database is to use the Data > Campaigns page and delete each record. If you need to remove more than 75 records, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
How to Bulk Unassign
1] Login to TapClicks and on the Data menu, click Data Sources.
2] At the bottom of the Data Sources page, click the Manage assignments link.
3] On the Manage Assignments page, from the Data Source dropdown menu, choose the data source you want to bulk unmap. This must be done one data source at a time.
NOTE: You do not need to use the expand all assignments checkbox because you're only looking to expose what is already assigned, which is included in the download automatically. |
4] Click Download.
5] After the file downloads, open it to locate the records you want to unmap.
6] Remove all the rows that you don’t want to make any changes to. This leaves you with only the records you want to unmap (three in the example below).
7] In the remaining rows, remove the contents in the "Client ID" and "Client Name" columns (e.g. Columns G and H in the example below).
8] Save the file, with these changes, to your local machine.
9] On the Manage Assignments page, click the Choose File button.
10] Navigate to the file you just saved and click Open.
11] Click Upload. The file is uploaded but also appears on your computer (typically accessible from the bottom of your browser window).
12] Open that file to see your results. As you can see from the example below, those records have been unmapped/unassigned.
