TapAnalytics empowers users to create widgets based on the data that's stored in the platform. However, some datasets, often referred to as "problem metrics", do not perform well when stored. To ensure users have access to precise reporting, we've introduced the concept of an "on demand toggle" within Reporting.
What is an On Demand Connector?
On Demand Connectors address the “data inflation” issues that arise with those few specific metrics when stored and aggregated over time like reach, users, impressions, frequency, followers, etc.
Some examples of metrics susceptible to data inflation include the following:
-
Facebook Ads Reach or Frequency
-
Google Analytics Users or New Users
-
Google Ads Impression Share
-
Microsoft Ads Impression Share [May 2021]
-
Google Analytics 4 Users [Jun 2021]
-
LinkedIn Ads Demographics [Jun 2021]
-
Adobe Analytics all custom fields [Oct 2021]
-
Spotify Ads Reach, unique metrics [Feb 2022]
-
Facebook Insights Reach, Followers [Feb 2022]
-
Pinterest Ads Profile Views [Mar 2022]
-
Twitter Ads Reach [Mar 2022]
How are On Demand connectors different from stored connectors?
As the name suggests, stored data connectors (i.e., Instant On Connectors) fetch data automatically and create a historical database of information, covering long periods and enabling the analysis of trends over months to years. Conversely, On Demand Connectors retrieve data directly from the source API with a toggle of a switch for a specific data range.
Typically, any types of fields that are de-duplicated by our partners, like people or audience-type fields, work well with On Demand Connectors. Also, fields that are calculations, but the base values are not readily provided, work nicely with On Demand Connectors.

Best Practices With On Demand Connectors
For users who need dashboards with widgets based on On Demand connectors, ensure that you map one assignment (i.e., mapping) from the Data Source you need on-demand to your TapClicks client.
