Can I pause a data connection?
Yes. On the Data Load Status Dashboard, click the Actions icon to the right of a connection and select Pause Data Flow. This option is only available for connections that are failing due to credential issues or SmartConnector™ configuration issues, which prevents active data flows on functional connections from being paused. Connections that TapClicks is actively investigating also cannot be paused, because TapClicks reviews and resolves those issues on your behalf.
Why would I pause a data connection?
Pausing a data connection is useful when you no longer need fresh data from a source but still need access to the historical data it has provided. For example, you may discontinue services with a data provider but want to retain past data for analysis, or you may lose access to a data source when a client relationship ends. Pausing stops the data flow from the connection, which prevents unnecessary alerts and keeps your dashboards stable without losing access to historical data.
Can I receive notifications on my Data Load Status?
Yes. Set up custom notification rules on the Notifications tab. In each rule, you can specify which data sources and connections to include or exclude, enter the email addresses that should receive notifications, and set a daily maximum for email notifications to control how often alerts are sent. Rules can be edited, copied, or deleted at any time. For more information about Data Load Status notifications, see Understanding the Data Load Status Dashboard.
How to Pause Data Flow for a Connection
1] In the left side menu, on the Data menu, click Data Load Status.
2] The Data Load Status Dashboard opens. At the top of the page, confirm you are on the Needs Attention tab.
3] Locate the connection with the credential or SmartConnector™ configuration error in the list, then click the Actions icon on the right.
4] Click Pause Data Flow.
5] A confirmation pop-up window opens. Review the impact that pausing the connection will have, then click Yes, Pause Data Flow. Data flow for the connection is paused.
How to Review Connections with Paused Data Flow
1] On the Data Load Status Dashboard, click the Connection Status tab at the top of the page.
2] The Connection Status tab opens and shows all active connections by default. Below the search box, click Paused to view all of your paused data connections.
How to Resume Data Flow for a Connection
1] On the Connection Status tab, with Paused selected, locate the connection you want to reactivate by scrolling down the list or using the search box.
2] For the connection you want to reactivate, click the Actions icon on the right.
3] Click Resume Data Flow.
4] A confirmation pop-up window opens. Review the potential impacts, then click Yes, Resume Data Flow. Data flow for the connection is re-established.
How to Pause Data Flow for an Assignment
1] In the left side menu, on the Data menu, click Data Load Status.
2] The Data Load Status Dashboard opens. At the top of the page, confirm you are on the Needs Attention tab.
3] Scroll down to locate the assignment with the credential or SmartConnector™ configuration error in the list, then click the Actions icon on the right.
4] Click Pause Data Flow.
5] A confirmation pop-up window opens. Review the impact that pausing the assignment will have, then click Yes, Pause Data Flow. Data flow for the assignment is paused.
6] You can also pause data flow for an assignment from the Assignment Status tab. At the top of the Data Load Status Dashboard, click the Assignment Status tab.
7] Scroll down to the assignment you want to pause, then click the Actions icon.
8] Click Pause Data Flow, then click Yes, Pause Data Flow in the confirmation pop-up window. Data flow for the assignment is paused.
