General Agents FAQs
What are AI Agents in TapClicks?
AI Agents are built-in tools within the TapClicks platform that use artificial intelligence to assist with data analysis, metric creation, and data transformation. These agents help users automate manual tasks and generate insights based on marketing data.
What types of AI Agents are available?
The following types of AI Agents are available:
- Dashboard Insights Agents: Generate written summaries based on dashboard section data.
- Calculations Agent: Assists with creating custom calculated metrics using plain-language input.
Who can access AI Agents?
Access to AI Agents is role-based. Super Admins have access by default. Other user roles can be granted access through permission settings managed by an account administrator.
How are AI Agents configured?
Users with the appropriate permissions can configure their TapClicks instance to use a custom OpenAI API token for processing. This allows control over how requests are billed and processed. However, agent behavior itself is not customizable beyond prompt-based usage. If users want to refine outputs, they can re-prompt the agent directly within the platform.
Is data processed by AI Agents secure?
Yes. AI Agents follow TapClicks’ standard data handling and security protocols. If a custom API token is used, users should also review the associated provider’s data privacy and security practices.
Are AI Agents included in all TapClicks packages?
AI Agents are part of the TapInsights package. Contact your TapClicks representative to confirm availability in your account.
Is there a cost associated with using AI Agents?
For pricing and access information, contact your Customer Success Manager or the TapClicks sales team.
Dashboards Agent FAQs
What are AI Agents for Dashboards?
AI Agents create automated insights that appear directly in your TapClicks instance. They generate written summaries based on your dashboard section data, helping you quickly understand performance, identify opportunities, and communicate results—without manual effort.
What types of AI Agents for Dashboards are available?
The following AI Agents are available:
- Executive Insights – Provides a high-level overview of campaign performance, key wins, and areas to improve
- Campaign Performance Narrative – Breaks down traffic sources, lead conversions, and attribution insights
- Top & Bottom Performer Insights – Highlights the best- and worst-performing campaigns, creatives, or channels
- Trends and Forecast Insights – Analyzes performance trends and projects future outcomes
- Budget Insights – Compares budget versus actual spend, identifies pacing issues, and suggests reallocation
When should I use each Dashboard AI Agent?
-
Executive Insights
- Use when you need a high-level summary of overall campaign performance across all active channels.
- Ideal for client meetings, executive reports, or adding summaries to dashboards.
-
Campaign Performance Narrative
- Use when you want a clear explanation of where traffic came from, what converted, and how channels contributed.
- Great for building performance reports or giving context to attribution data.
-
Top & Bottom Performer Insights
- Use to quickly spot the top three and bottom three performers across campaigns, creatives, or channels.
- Helpful for identifying what’s working well and what may need optimization.
-
Trends and Forecast Insights
- Use to review past performance trends and get forecasts for upcoming results.
- Ideal for identifying patterns, planning next steps, and spotting emerging opportunities.
-
Budget Insights
- Use to compare budgeted versus actual spend and identify pacing issues.
- Best used when your dashboard includes budget data to support accurate analysis.
- Note: Your dashboard must include budget data for this agent to generate a meaningful summary.
Who can use Dashboard AI Agents?
Only users with the Super Admin role have access to AI Agents by default. However, access is permission-based and can be granted through user roles. If you need access or believe you should have it, contact your account administrator, they can update your role to include the necessary permissions.
Where do the summaries appear?
All AI-generated summaries are available in the AI Agents Summaries section. You can also add a summary as an Executive Summary to the same dashboard it was created from. The summary will only appear when the same time frame used to generate it is selected.
How can I use the pre-defined AI Agent output?
To use the summaries, open any of your TapClicks dashboards, click the AI icon (i.e., the sparkle icon) in the top right corner (access is based on your user role), and select any agent to generate a summary. For more information, please refer to the AI Agents Overview.
Can I use my own token for AI processing?
Yes. You can configure your own API token for AI processing within your TapClicks instance. This gives you more control over how tokens are consumed and allows you to manage usage and billing directly through your preferred AI provider. If you'd like help setting this up, reach out to your TapClicks representative for configuration support.
Is there a limit to how much data I can send to the AI?
Yes. Each AI Agent uses processing tokens, and large datasets can exceed the available token limit. This can happen, for example, if a data grid widget is set to show “All” rows. To reduce the load and improve summary performance, limit the number of rows displayed in grid widgets or simplify the data shown in your dashboard section.
Can AI Agents send entire dashboard sections to the AI for analysis?
Yes. AI Agents support sending entire dashboard sections to AI. If you want to create a summary of multiple widgets or campaign types, you can organize them into a single section on your dashboard and use that section to generate a comprehensive summary.
Calculations Agent FAQs
What is the Calculations Agent?
The Calculations Agent, also known as the Data Transformation Agent, helps users generate custom calculated metrics using plain-language instructions. It automatically builds formula logic based on user input.
What types of metrics can be created?
The types of metrics users can create with the Calculations Agent depend on the fields available in the connected data source and the selected view. The AI can generate a wide range of calculated metrics, but it can only reference data that is already present in the view being used.
For example, if your data view includes fields like Cost, Impressions, Clicks, and Conversions, you could use the agent to create metrics such as:
- CTR (Click-Through Rate) = Clicks ÷ Impressions
- CPA (Cost per Acquisition) = Cost ÷ Conversions
- CPC (Cost per Click) = Cost ÷ Clicks
- ROI (Return on Investment) = (Revenue − Cost) ÷ Cost (if Revenue is present)
If the necessary data field (e.g., Revenue) is not available in the view, the AI won’t be able to generate a metric that includes it.
Additionally, users can perform text transformations (e.g., standardizing campaign names), create conditional logic (e.g., flagging performance thresholds), and format outputs using arithmetic and string functions.
To maximize the effectiveness of the agent, ensure your view includes all relevant fields required for the calculation you want to create.
Where can the agent be accessed?
The Calculations Agent is available on the Create/Edit Calculation page. When creating or editing a calculation, click the sparkle icon to open the Agent menu. From there, users can prompt the Calculations Agent to generate the formula they need.
Can the formula be modified after creation?
Yes. Once the agent generates a formula, it appears in the calculation builder, where users can review and adjust as needed.
Does the agent work across all data sources?
The agent supports most standard TapClicks data sources. Results may vary depending on data structure and field availability.
Can AI-generated metrics be reused?
Yes. Created metrics can be used across dashboards, widgets, and clients, just like manually built calculated metrics.
Is there a limit to the number of AI-generated calculations?
There is no fixed limit, but each use consumes AI processing tokens. Users with custom token configurations should monitor usage accordingly.
