What are the Operator Agents?
Operator Agents are AI-powered tools within TapClicks that respond to plain-language text prompts to perform actions within the platform. Rather than manually building dashboards, widgets, or calculated metrics from scratch, users can describe what they need and the agent will generate it automatically. There are three Operator Agents available:
- Dashboard Creation Agent: Creates a full dashboard based on a plain-language prompt.
- Widget Creation Agent: Generates individual dashboard widgets such as charts, tables, and metric displays based on a plain-language prompt.
- Calculations Agent: Builds custom calculated metrics using plain-language instructions, automatically generating the formula logic based on user input.
What can each Operator Agent create?
Each Operator Agent is designed for a specific type of output:
- Dashboard Creation Agent: Generates a complete dashboard from a prompt, including relevant sections and widgets. It is best used for rapid dashboard setup and first-pass analysis. Advanced configurations such as complex filters and styling can be refined manually after creation.
- Widget Creation Agent: Generates charts, tables, and metric widgets from a prompt. The agent automatically selects appropriate chart types, validates data sources, and avoids invalid configurations. Advanced settings such as pagination, complex filters, and detailed styling can still be customized manually after creation.
- Calculations Agent: Creates calculated metrics based on fields available in the connected data source and selected view. The agent can generate a wide range of metrics, perform text transformations, create conditional logic, and format outputs using arithmetic and string functions. It can only reference data that is already present in the view being used.
Where can Operator Agents be accessed?
Each Operator Agent is accessed from a different location within TapClicks:
- Dashboard Creation Agent: Accessible when creating a new dashboard. Click the sparkle icon to open the Agent menu and enter your prompt.
- Widget Creation Agent: Accessible from within a dashboard when adding a new widget. Click the sparkle icon to open the Agent menu and enter your prompt.
- Calculations Agent: Accessible on the Create/Edit Calculation page. Click the sparkle icon to open the Agent menu and enter your prompt.
Can the output be modified after creation?
Yes. Output from all Operator Agents can be reviewed and adjusted after creation. Dashboards and widgets generated by the Dashboard Creation and Widget Creation Agents can be edited using the standard TapClicks editing tools. Formulas generated by the Calculations Agent appear in the calculation builder, where they can be reviewed and modified as needed.
Do Operator Agents work across all data sources?
Operator Agents support most standard TapClicks data sources. Results may vary depending on data structure and field availability. The Calculations Agent can only reference fields that are present in the selected data view.
Can AI-generated output be reused?
Yes. Dashboards, widgets, and calculated metrics created by Operator Agents can be used and shared just like manually created items. Calculated metrics can be used across dashboards, widgets, and clients.
Is there a limit to how many times I can use Operator Agents?
There is no fixed limit, but each use consumes AI processing tokens. Users with custom token configurations should monitor usage accordingly.
