Why do I need the Data Load Status dashboard?
The Data Load Status page allows your team to review the status of your TapClicks Data Sources. It surfaces any issues that you can resolve, calls out issues that may be present for specific assignments, and allows you to subscribe to notifications so you know immediately when there's an issue. Use this dashboard to dig into specific client data load statuses and stay up to date with how fetches are progressing.
What user type can see the Data Load Status dashboard?
Super Admins.
I can't see the Data Load Status dashboard. Why not?
If you are not a Super Admin, you will not be able to see this page. If you need access to this page, please contact your administrator to see about adjusting your role.
Are all Data Sources supported on the Assignment Status page?
Not quite. TapClicks is releasing additional data source support every month. You can see which of the Data Sources you are connected to in the text at the top of the Assignment Status tab of the Data Load Status page. If you are looking for a specific Data Source to be added to this page, please submit a feature request to your Customer Success Representative.
I clicked on Fetch My Data. Why don't I see anything change on the Data Load Status page?
The Data Load Status page only supports daily fetches at this time. Any additional fetches you make by clicking the "Fetch My Data" button will not be reflected here.
What timezone is represented on these screens?
The timezone will respect the timezone set for the logged-in user.
Why does the "Item ID" look different in certain cases?
Assignments can be classified as Level 1 or Level 2 assignments. In the TapClicks backend, all Level 1 assignments have a prefix of “a” on them. If the assignment is a level 2 assignment, then there will be an “a” value and then a “c” value.
From a legacy standpoint, this used to mean “Advertiser” and “Campaign” for Level 1 and Level 2 respectively, but keep in mind that your level 1 and level 2 will vary based on Data Source.
I love this page, can I set it as my home page when I log in?
Yes, you can! Use the following steps to set it as your home page:
1] Click on your user icon and then select Settings.
2] In the Data Settings section, from the Default Home Page dropdown menu choose Connection Status. This will make Data Load Status your home page when you are in the new UI.
Does the Data Load Status page support Smart Connectors?
Yes. The exception is on the assignment grids (the Assignment Status tab and the Assignment Errors grids on the main Needs Attention tab). The reason is that Smart Connector assignments are processed all at the same time, not one at a time, which is more efficient.
If you are trying to see Smart Connector assignments on the Assignment Status tab, click the link for additional guidance.
What is a Periodic Load?
This indicates how much data TapClicks tries to fetch for existing assignments.
What is an Initial Load?
This indicates how much data TapClicks tries to fetch for new assignments.
On the Assignment Status page, why don’t I see certain listed Data Sources in the graph?
This is because you may be connected to the Data Source, but there are no assignments. The bar graph will only fill in for Data Sources where there are assignments. In the example below, Facebook Insights, Twitter, and Google Search Console are connected, but there are no assignments.
Will disconnecting also delete the associated campaigns?
No, unassigning a connection will not delete any assignment data from the database.
If you need to delete data from the dashboard altogether, please review the article, here.
Why do I see records on the Assignment Status page that I can’t see on the Manage Data Sources Assignment screen?
This is because the Assignment screen is populated by live data fetches. If there is an assignment that your credentials no longer have access to, since this list is populated on demand, it will not show it in the list.
However, in the backend, we still try to fetch data for those previously attached assignments. As a result, you will see those records on the Data Load Status page under the Assignment status sections, since we still want to give you a way to manage those records.
If you re-establish the credentials or add credentials with access to those assignments, you should be able to see them in the Manage Data Sources Assignment screen again.
How do I know which timezone the information on this page is displayed in?
When you log in, you will see a message in the top right corner of the screen that indicates the timezone. The timezone displayed will depend on the logged-in user’s settings.
How do I change the “from” address for the notification emails? Is there a way to do this?
Yes, there are options available to control the "from" address that sends these emails. To learn more, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or customercare@tapclicks.com.
I see a connection failure in Manage Data Sources. Why is the connection showing as successful on the Connection Status tab instead of appearing on the Data Load Status Needs Attention tab?
First, check to see the number of assignments that the connection has. If you have zero mappings, then the connection on the Data Load Status page will show as successful. This is because the system will look at the assignments first, find no assignments, and mark the fetch as successful because it didn't need to do anything.
In this scenario, you will see the credential failure when you are on the screen to manage assignments and you can take action from there.
This should be considered an edge case, because once you are mapped, TapClicks will attempt to fetch data for those assignments and surface the failures as expected on the Needs Attention and Connection Status page.
Can a Business Unit Admin use this page?
Yes. The Business Unit Admin can view the connections that their business unit has access to. They will not see the Daily Data Load Status tab, since that tab reflects all daily fetches for the instance as a whole.
Can I pause an Active Data Connection or Assignment?
Yes, you can pause active Data Connections and Assignments by pressing the Pause Data Flow button for the connection/assignment on the Data Load Status page. For more information, please refer to How to Pause Data Flow.
Can I receive notifications on my Data Load Status?
Yes, you can receive notifications on your Data Load Status by setting up custom notification rules in the Notifications tab. Here, you can specify which data sources and connections to include or exclude, and enter email addresses that should receive these notifications. You can also set a daily maximum for email notifications to manage the frequency of alerts. These rules are customizable and can be edited, copied, or deleted according to your preferences. For information about the Data Load Status Notifications, refer to the Understanding the Data Load Status Dashboard article.
