What is TapMap?
TapMap (Advanced Geo Visualizations) is a paid add-on feature within the TapClicks platform that enables users to create interactive, boundary-based maps for in-depth geographic analysis. Unlike standard Geo Widgets, which typically visualize data at a broad, country level, TapMap supports more granular geographic layers, including state and ZIP code. This capability makes TapMap ideal for visualizing boundary-related data, allowing users to analyze and present location-based insights with greater specificity, helping drive more data-informed, localized decisions.
How do I access TapMap?
TapMap is available for an additional, nominal fee. To access TapMap, please contact your Customer Success Manager or customercare@tapclicks.com for more information. Once enabled, you can find TapMap on a Dashboard or within a Report Studio report. To use it, create a data widget and select the Geo Widget icon in the widget editor. For detailed instructions, please refer to How to Use TapMap (Advanced Geo Visualizations).
Is there a limit to the number of maps I can create using TapMap?
There is no strict limit on the number of maps you can create with TapMap.
Can I customize the appearance of my TapMap maps?
Yes. TapMap offers extensive customization options, including various color schemes, map types, and layer options. You can tailor the appearance of your maps to match your brand or specific visualization needs.
How can I visualize my data with TapMap?
With TapMap, you can choose from two visualization options: Boundary or Cluster.
- Boundary: This option highlights the area you select. Darker shades appear where the selected metric has higher values.
- Cluster: This option plots points on the map based on the group-bys you selected. As you zoom out, the points consolidate into clusters that display a count of how many points are included. Zoom in to see the individual points, and hover over them to view metric values.
If you prefer to see the aggregated value of your selected metric displayed directly, you can enable the Style option for Show metric labels. This displays the aggregate value within each cluster point.
What geographic layers are available in TapMap?
For TapMap Boundary plots, the geographic layers are available at the Country, State, County, City, Congressional District, Designated Market Area (DMA), and ZIP Code levels, enabling detailed and localized data visualization.
| Note: Region layer is not supported in TapMap. |
Does TapMap support plotting by Latitude and Longitude?
Yes. To plot by Latitude and Longitude, select the Cluster option in TapMap. Then, set your Group Bys to Geo Latitude and Geo Longitude. This will display your plots accurately on the map.
Which connectors support TapMap?
TapMap is available for both Instant On Connectors and SmartConnectors™ with Geo-settings configured. For the list of data sources that support Geo data, see Which Data Sources Work in Geo Widgets? For instructions on using SmartConnectors™ with Geo data, see How to Use SmartConnector™ Geo-Settings.
| Note: Channels are not supported in TapMap. |
