New Connector: Pinterest Ads
TapClicks is excited to announce the launch of a new connector for Pinterest Ads!
With millions of people building their dream kitchen, considering post-covid vacations, or diving into hobbies, there has never been a better time to consider Pinterest to find your customers. From their website: 89% of Pinterest users use the platform on their path toward a purchase and 52% of millennials use Pinterest.
If you are currently a Pinterest Ads user, then navigate to your Data Sources page in TapClicks and connect that account! Also consider building a TapClicks Channel to join Pinterest Ads data with your other social media accounts. Local map pack included in New Raven Rank Tracking
The New Raven feature has added a way to see your business listing rank position in Map Packs. This is particularly helpful for local businesses such as doctors offices, lawyers, service area businesses, and similar.
Now when using the rank tracking tool, if you appear in a map pack, the rank you show up in the map pack will be displayed.
Add data to Smart Connectors using JSON files
This is a really exciting development from the connector team. When you add data to Smart Connectors, you now have the ability to use JSON files. JSON files are a structured format that include arrays and subarrays of data. The Smart Connector both allows you to bring in JSON data as well as define whether to isolate or exclude certain arrays.
When creating a new Smart Connector using this method, you will select a delivery type and then identify the JSON file. The Smart Connector will read the JSON file and bring in fields to map, just like it does with any other connector. However, when the system identifies that is it reading a JSON file, it will provide two new fields: Data Path and Exclude Path.
The Data Path field is used to isolate an array from the JSON file. For example, if you have a subarray for addresses in a customer file, you can tell the system to only fetch the address array from amongst all of the data.
The Exclude Path is used to exclude arrays. By providing the array path in this field prior to uploading your file, anything in the excluded array(s) will be excluded from the upload. For example, if you have a subarray for addresses in the customer file and want to exclude it from the fetch, simply fill out the exclude path accordingly and you will not have that data fetched.
Advanced Calculations "Empty Operator" Formula
We understand the importance of being able to conduct data analysis in TapClicks. It isn't enough to connect data sources and generate reports. Often you need to manipulate the data in some way, either by joining multiple fields with a TapClicks Channel or identifying errors in the data. One of these common errors relates to empty cells.
If you are responsible for cleaning up a large dataset or manage data for your team, you probably know the challenge of dealing with empty values. What's an empty value and why is it an issue? Imagine having a huge excel sheet with location information related to ads. Depending on how your campaigns were setup, maybe amongst all your fields many of the "city" columns are empty. When trying to run analysis on a dataset like this, the empty values can both lead to inaccurate results as well as potentially introduce errors.
This new Calculation formula allows you to quickly check for empty values in a dataset right from TapClicks. It is called the "Empty Operator" and can be used in the Calculation tool by running the following command: Empty()
Empty() lets you identify empty values in your data set and then filter them out. Empty() returns TRUE if your value is ““ or NULL and FALSE otherwise.

Smart Connector
Quickbooks Smart Connector Template
Quickbooks Smart Connector Template will now be available in the Smart Connector Template Marketplace
Universal Smart Connector configuration menu
When building a Smart Connector you may be familiar with the additional feature options that appear below the Delivery Type selection. In the recent past this has included the ability to add data via Email. As the team has added more additional features and functionality, to avoid clutter, the team has optimized the user experience for this menu area. Now all menu toggles will appear on the same line, making it easier to navigate and easier to configure your Smart Connector.
Orders & Workflow
Hide closed flights
We currently have the capability to filter Orders and Line Items by Open vs. “Closed” (Completed or cancelled) status. This capability to filter has now been extended to the Flights.
Data Source Updates
Facebook Ads - New Data View: Custom Conversions by Platform
Previously, TapClicks did not make Custom Conversions broken down by Platform available. With this update, you will be able to see and report against this data set. Now, if a client wants to see their Facebook Ads Custom Conversions broken down by the specific Facebook platform that their Ads ran against, they can do so. The important part of this update is that “Platform” helps indicate if the Ad ran on Facebook or on Instagram within the FB Business Manager System"
Facebook Ads - New Fields at Campaign Level
The following new fields will be exposed on the Facebook Ads Campaigns data view.
- Blocked Messaging Conversations
- Messaging Conversations Started
- New Messaging Conversations
Google Ads - Rename "Hour of Day" data view to "Hour of Day Details"
This update changes “Hour of Day” to “Hour of Day Details” to help distinguish the system metric when building widgets.
On all data views when building a widget there is a metric that inherits the name of the dataview which represents the number of rows from the database for that dataview, it behaves like a count function (Example, “Campaigns”, “Ad Groups”, “Ads”, etc.) In most cases, we added a “Details” string to the dataview name to differentiate these metrics from the regular data view metrics (Example, “Campaign Details”, “Ad Group Details”, “Ad Details”, or “Ad Performance”)
Google Ad Manager - New Field: PreRoll Previews
TapClicks has added support for PreRoll Previews within Google Ad Manager. Previously, TapClicks did not make previews available for this Ad Type and now our clients can include them in reports.
For more details about Pre-Roll Ads on Google, please review this article.
Google My Business - Cache for Mapping list in GMB
To make it easier for customers with large volumes of connections to manage their Google My Business listings, TapClicks has created a caching system that stores data so data can be surfaced faster. This enhancement will make your experience faster when you need to map new GMB locations to your Client.
Note: This cache is updated each morning with the daily fetch, so if you add a new GMB location today, you will need to wait until tomorrow to map your data.
LocaliQ - New Data View: Search Activity Device Breakdown
LocaliQ users now have a new Data View for details related to Search Activity by Device. You will now be able to report on what devices are getting the most traffic and report on that for your end clients.
If you would like to leverage this data, reach out to your CSM to get the data views enabled on your instance.
LocalIQ - New Fields: Multiple Data Views
You now will be able to group data on data views by the various Campaign attributes. This will allow you to report in a more detailed manner. The following fields will be available from the Campaigns level:
- Campaign Type (Type at the Campaigns level)
- Campaign Source (Source at the Campaigns level)
- Campaign Start Date (Start Date at the Campaigns level)
- Campaign End Date (End Date at the Campaigns level)
- Campaign Status (Status at the Campaigns level)
And added to the following levels:
- Search Activity Report
- Keyword Report
- Google Search Report
- Google Keyword Report
- Display Activity Report
- Display Creative Report
- Email Details
- Call Details
- Chat Details
- Web Event Details
- GeoFence Summary Report
- YouTube Report
- Facebook Campaign Report
This field will also be inherited to the child data views of the following levels as well:
- Creative Type
- Creative Size
- Conversion Fence
- Youtube Age Breakdown
- Youtube Gender Breakdown
- Youtube Device Breakdown
- Facebook Demographic Breakdown
- Facebook Device Breakdown
Simpli.fi - New Data View: Retail Performance
The Simpli-fi connector on TapClicks has a new Data View for Retail Performance. The associated metrics allow you to track and evaluate your performance of your local advertising campaigns.
Simpli.fi - New fields - "Companies Client Name" and "Campaign Campaign Group Name"
New fields have been added to the Campaign data view for Companies Group ID and Source Client Name. Also inherited fields from the Campaign data view down to the various other data views. This enables you to group data at lower levels by these two additional fields when reporting.
Simpli.fi - Modifying Mapping Screen
TapClicks has altered the behavior for how the system fetches Campaigns for clients to map. We now only pull the last year worth of active campaigns. The reason for this change is because Simpli.fi users can have numerous campaigns that are both active and inactive. This change makes it so only active campaigns are mapped, which improves the experience by having fewer items in the list of available campaigns. This will make mapping easier.
Snapchat Ads - Changes related to Updated API
New Data Views
Recently Snapchat made an API change that impacts a few existing Data Views: Device and Geo. In response, TapClicks has created new Data Views to reflect the API methods and data sets. With this update you will be able to report on data by day for various countries, regions, DMAs, Device OS’, and Devince Makes.
Data Views Updated
The recent API update also required a deprecation of an existing Data View that contains lifetime performance data in favor of the new data broken down by day. Similar to the new Data Views, the User Interest and Demographics Data Views will now be able to have details broken down by day.
One thing to note: Due to the release of these newer data sets by Snapchat, TapClicks can only get data from Snapchat Ads back to Jan 01, 2020.
TapAPI - New way to update dashboard via the API
This update to the TapAPI enables you to hit the “Update Dashboard” button without logging into the platform. For customers that use our TapAPI to administer the TapClicks instance without logging into the system, this is another tool that ensures they can automate tasks from outside of the platform through TapAPI.
